Martin Luther King said in 1967 that the easy part was done, which was integration. Now we have a much harder job which is economic equality and justice. He was assassinated the next year. White people didn’t mind us integrated because there was no shift in power. They still pushed all the buttons and still do till this day because they control all of the wealth. Black people are not a threat unless we are seeking economic equality. That’s when we become dangerous and they will try to destroy black people.
He wrote a book in Jamaica and reflected and was thinking about the Vietnam war when he wrote a book about economic justice. He said that the Vietnam war was being used to kill off black people, as well our spiritual and psychological death. It’s rather interesting that this thinking was a lot like Malcolm X’s thinking. Sadly, not too long after Dr. King began speaking about wealth and black businesses is when the civil rights leader became assassinated.
