This is the result of 400 years of closed slavery in which you don’t only deny knowledge of self, but play the light slave against the dark slave, the young against the old, the male against the female, the house slave v. the field slave and a hundred other tiny tricks so that the slave only trust you. This is what is different amongst the African American and it will take generations to weed out. Closed Slavery is designed to make the slaves inherently distrustful of one another. You can’t just free such a people and expect this to go away overnight.I call this form of crabbing, the “HNIC” phenomenon.
